PETG (a glycol modified version of PET) is becoming an increasingly popular 3D printing material that combines the advantages of 2 of the most popular 3D printing materials: PLA and ABS.
PETG filaments have become an attractive material for users who require the functionality of ABS (strength, toughness and heat resistance) but require the reliability associated with PLA (easy to print, no warping, no odor during printing). PolyMax™ PETG takes things a step further, offering significantly better mechanical properties than any other regular PETG and in some applications PolyMax™ PETG can act as a replacement for ABS.
Parts printed in PolyMax™ PETG are both stiffer and tougher than parts printed in regular ABS, a real advantage for users who have difficulty printing high temperature materials without warping but require the functionality of ABS. Just like PLA and other PETG filaments the dimensional stability of PolyMax™ PETG is excellent, allowing users to print large parts without the risk of warping. An enclosure isn't required but like PLA it is recommended when printing large parts to prevent drafts which could cause shrinking and curling on corners.
Under high loads, regular PETG will tend to break and shatter somewhat violently. PolyMax™ PETG is more ductile than regular PETG and parts that fail will deform gradually,
With minimal printing requirements and a desirable combination of great mechanical and thermal properties, PolyMax™ PETG is an excellent all-rounder filament. An excellent example of this is these 3D printed headphones.
PolyMax™ PETG's excellent inter-layer adhesion and ductility ensure the frame can flex and bend reliably and with improved stiffness, the frame returns to its original shape after long and repeated use. Industry Leading Quality Control
PolyMax™ PETG like all other Polymaker materials is manufactured using state-of-the-art polymer processing technologies and equipment. Polymakers rigorous quality control process ensures industrial standards of reliability for a consistent customer experience.
Tolerance: Polymakers custom developed extrusion, control and monitoring solutions to ensure filament tolerance and roundness meet Polymakers strict quality standards.
Reliable Mechanical, Colouring & Printing Properties: Every batch of filament products are tested to ensure all quality specs (melt flow, softening point, mechanical, diameter, round-ness) are met.
Drying & Vacuum Sealing: Before packaging, all Polymaker filaments are dried to a moisture level of < 0.1% to ensure the best printing quality and are vacuum sealed to protect the filament from moisture. All vacuum packaged products are left for 24 hours before boxing to ensure they are leak-free.
750g Spool: PolyMax™ PETG is carefully wound on Polymakers transparent spools. With the transparent spool, it is easy to see exactly how much filament is left for your next printing project.
Resealable Bag: All Polymaker filaments are packaged in a resealable bag to ensure your filament is moisture free. Like all other PETG filaments, PolyMax™ PETG is hygroscopic so we recommend using this bag for filament storage.
