Compatibility In Mind - PolyLite™ PLA Silk is an easy-to-print filament and compatible with a wide range of popular extrusion based 3D printers. (Heated bed may be required in some cases).
Easy to Print - PolyLite™ PLA Silk works well with common printing surfaces such as the blue tape, Kapton tape, glass, BuildTak, etc. No heated bed required but can be used for better results (up to 60°C).

Tolerance: Polymakers custom developed extrusion, control and monitoring solutions to ensure filament tolerance and roundness meet Polymakers strict quality standards.
Reliable Mechanical, Colouring & Printing Properties: Every batch of filament products are tested to ensure all quality specs (melt flow, softening point, mechanical, diameter, round-ness) are met.
Drying & Vacuum Sealing: Before packaging, all Polymaker filaments are dried to a moisture level of < 0.1% to ensure the best printing quality and are vacuum sealed to protect the filament from moisture. All vacuum packaged products are left for 24 hours before boxing to ensure they are leak-free.
Transparent Spool: PolyLite™ PLA Silk is wound on Polymakers 1kg transparent spools. With the transparent spool, it is easy to see exactly how much filament is left for your next printing project.
Resealable Bag: PolyLite™ PLA Silk is packaged in a vacuum sealed resealable bag to ensure your filament is moisture free. Like all other PLA filaments, PolyLite™ PLA is hygroscopic so we recommend using this bag for filament storage.

STORAGE & DRYING
Before packaging, PolyLite™ PLA Silk is dried to ensure the best printing quality and filaments are vacuum sealed to protect the filament from moisture. When not in use PolyLite™ PLA Silk should be stored away from sunlight in the packaged resealable bag.
Like other PLA filaments, PolyLite™ PLA Silk is susceptible to absorbing moisture from the air which can subsequently effect the quality and mechanical properties of the final prints. We recommend storing PolyLite™ PLA Silk in the PolyBox™ or a dry cabinet during printing to prevent moisture absorption which will lower the quality of the print. The PolyBox™ keeps the filament at dry conditions (relative humidity of 15% or less).
If you hear popping sounds and notice that the surface quality of your print is uneven or the color is not consistent, this is a likely indicator that the filament has absorbed too much moisture. Spools of PolyLite™ PLA Silk can be dried in a preheated convection oven at 45˚C for up to 6 hours. Results may vary depending on the accuracy of your oven so please be conservative. PolyLite™ PLA Silk has been engineered with compatibility in mind to print excellently on a wide range of 3D printers. Although PolyLite™ PLA features Jam-Free™ technology it is not possible to implement this technology in silk filaments such as PolyLite™ PLA Silk.
With thousands of unique 3d printer models on the market, we can't guarantee each filament type will work with every 3D printer. If your printer suffers from heat creep and has difficulty printing other brands of PLA or Silk PLA due to jamming, PolyLite™ PLA Silk may perform similarly.
Q: Does PolyLite™ PLA Silk feature Jam-Free™ technology?
A: To achieve the silk surface finish, PolyLite™ PLA Silk does not feature the Jam-Free™ technology implemented in PolyLite™ PLA and other Polymaker PLA filaments.
Q: Can PLA be printed at large scales without warping?
A: One of the benefits of PLA is the ability to print large parts with excellent dimensional stability; we have many customers printing large full-size printing projects in PolyLite™ PLA Silk. Please note that while PLA materials don't warp in most situations, printing with poor first layer adhesion can cause any material to warp and printing or the heated bed too hot can cause any PLA filament to crystallize rapidly, creating internal stress and warping.
Q: What support materials can I use with this product?
A: Polymaker’s PolyDissolve™ S1 or PolySupport™ filament are the recommended support filaments for PolyLite™ PLA Silk. If your 3D printer is not equipped for multi-material, self-support can be used.
