The dimensional stability of PolyLite™ PETG is excellent, allowing users to print large parts without the same risk of warping that is closely associated with printing ABS on hobbyist and professional 3d printers. An enclosure isn't required but like PLA it is recommended when printing large parts to maintain a warm printing environment and prevent drafts which could cause shrinking and curling on corners.

Tolerance: Polymakers custom developed extrusion, control and monitoring solutions to ensure filament tolerance and roundness meet Polymakers strict quality standards.
Reliable Mechanical, Colouring & Printing Properties: Every batch of filament products are tested to ensure all quality specs (melt flow, softening point, mechanical, diameter, round-ness) are met.
Drying & Vacuum Sealing: Before packaging, all Polymaker filaments are dried to a moisture level of < 0.1% to ensure the best printing quality and are vacuum sealed to protect the filament from moisture. All vacuum packaged products are left for 24 hours before boxing to ensure they are leak-free.
Transparent Spool: PolyLite™ PETG is wound on Polymakers 1kg transparent spools. With the transparent spool, it is easy to see exactly how much filament is left for your next printing project.
Resealable Bag: PolyLite™ PETG is packaged in a vacuum sealed resealable bag to ensure your filament is moisture free. Like all other PETG filaments, PolyLite™ PETG is hygroscopic so we recommend using this bag for filament storage.

Of course with thousands of unique 3d printer models on the market, we can't guarantee each filament type will work with every 3D printer.
Q: Does PETG print exactly the same as PLA?
A: Most filament types are compared to PLA or ABS when discussing how they print. PETG doesn't print exactly like PLA but it shares more printing characteristics with PLA than it does with ABS. How easy a material is to print will wildly rely on a users hardware and previous experience, but most users find transitioning from PLA to PETG easier than transitioning from PLA to ABS. The key differences between PLA and PETG are a heated bed is very important when printing PETG, optimal printing temperatures are different and the enclosures can be more beneficial when printing some geometries.
Q: Can PETG be printed at large scales without warping?
A: In terms of dimensional stability, PETG is easier to print than high temperature materials like ABS. When using a desktop 3D printer, many large prints that would warp or crack in ABS can often times be printed in PETG without these hassles. Many users print PETG without an enclosure but depending on the size of the print, an enclosure may be required to maintain the optimal environmental temperature and prevent drafts.
Q: Is PETG a suitable replacement for ABS?
A: Many users refer to PETG as an excellent replacement for ABS which is certainly true for some applications. When comparing regular PETG and regular ABS; ABS is still the tougher, stiffer and more heat resistant filament however many end users find PETG easier to print. If users won't benefit from the added performance ABS offers, the improved printability of PETG can make PolyLite™ PETG a suitable candidate.
