Heat Resistant - PolyLite™ PC is an excellent choice for heat resistant applications, offering better heat resistance than a range of other material types and withstanding temperatures well above 110 ºC.

Stiff and Strong - PolyLite™ PC displays excellent tensile strength and stiffness, ideal for a wide range of engineering applications including custom 3D printed jigs, fixtures, brackets and manufacturing aids.

Good Light Diffusion - PolyLite™ PC prints transparent parts with an attractive crystal shine and good light diffusion!

PolyLite PC Polymaker Filament

PC (PolyCarbonate) is a popular 3D printing material for engineering and industrial applications, offering vastly superior mechanical and thermal properties when compared to many other engineering plastics.

Based off Covestro's Makrolon® resins, PolyLite™ PC has been engineered and optimized specifically for 3D printing.

3D printing PC has commonly required high nozzle and bed temperatures (up to 320°C / 120°C). PolyLite™ PC is formulated with usability in mind; resulting in a product which combines the desirable mechanical performance of PC with more accessible printing requirements. PolyLite™ PC can be printed without an enclosure and is compatible with most ABS-capable 3D printers. With very similar printing characteristics to ABS an enclosure is required when printing any reasonably sized parts.

PolyLite™ PC is one of the stiffest unreinforced thermoplastics available, helping businesses minimize tool development time, reducing development cost and giving freedom to print customized light-weight jigs & fixtures.

Combining heat resistance and light diffusion enables development of new research and lighting applications. 3D printed parts can be sanded to achieve a beautiful smooth surface or sprayed with a clear coat of lacquer to obtain unique transparency.

Users with a dual extrusion 3D printer can print supports with Polymakers PolyDissolve™ S2. PolyDissolve™ S2 is a dedicated support material engineered to deliver water dissolvable supports with perfect interfacing and improved part surface quality. Polymaker 3D Printing Filament

PolyLite™ PC like all other Polymaker materials is manufactured using state-of-the-art polymer processing technologies and equipment. Polymakers rigorous minimum 8 quality control processes ensure industrial standards of reliability for a consistent customer experience.
Tolerance: Polymakers custom developed extrusion, control and monitoring solutions to ensure filament tolerance and roundness meet Polymakers strict quality standards.
Reliable Mechanical, Colouring & Printing Properties: Every batch of filament products are tested to ensure all quality specs (melt flow, softening point, mechanical, diameter, round-ness) are met.
Drying & Vacuum Sealing: Before packaging, all Polymaker filaments are dried to a moisture level of < 0.1% to ensure the best printing quality and are vacuum sealed to protect the filament from moisture. All vacuum packaged products are left for 24 hours before boxing to ensure they are leak-free.


Transparent Spool: PolyLite™ PC is wound on Polymakers 1kg transparent spools. With the transparent spool, it is easy to see exactly how much filament is left for your next printing project.
Resealable Bag: PolyLite™ PC is packaged in a vacuum sealed resealable bag to ensure your filament is moisture free. Like all other PC filaments, PolyLite™ PC is hygroscopic so we recommend using this bag for filament storage.

Storage & Drying

Before packaging, PolyLite™ PC is dried to ensure the best printing quality and filaments are vacuum sealed to protect the filament from moisture. When not in use PolyLite™ PC should be stored away from sunlight in the packaged resealable bag.

Like other PC filaments, PolyLite™ PC is susceptible to absorbing moisture from the air which can subsequently effect the quality and mechanical properties of the final prints. We recommend storing PolyLite™ PC in the PolyBox™ or a dry cabinet during printing to prevent moisture absorption which will lower the quality of the print. The PolyBox™ keeps the filament at dry conditions (relative humidity of 15% or less). 

If you hear popping sounds and notice that the surface quality of your print is uneven or the color is not consistent, this is a likely indicator that the filament has absorbed too much moisture. Spools of PolyLite™ PC can be dried in a preheated convection oven at 80˚C for up to 8 hours. Results may vary depending on the accuracy of your oven so please be conservative. PolyLite™ PC has been engineered with compatibility in mind to print excellently on a wide range of professional 3D printers. This material requires a heated bed and we recommend printing with an enclosure or heated chamber for sizeable or thin models.

Of course with thousands of unique 3d printer models on the market, we can't guarantee each filament type will work with every 3D printer.


Q: Polymaker manufacture many different PC filaments, which one should I purchase?
A: PolyLite™ PC and PolyMax™ PC are the best choices for users who are interested in 3D printing strong PolyCarbonate parts that don’t have a specialized requirement. These two materials are easier to print when compared to PC filaments from other brands. PolyLite™ PC offers transparency and the best value for general purpose printing and PolyMax™ PC is our most popular PC filament, with boosted toughness and additional benefits in printability. Aside from variances in price and mechanical performance, Polymaker™ PC-ABS, Polymaker™ PC-PBT and PolyMax™ PC-FR offer unique solutions for industrial applications, with excellent mechanical performance and slightly higher printing requirements. Q: Is this product the same as Polymaker PC-Plus™?
A: Yes! Polymaker launched a new naming system to simplify the ever growing product range for customers. During this change the name PC-Plus™ was updated as PolyLite™ PC. PolyLite™ is a family of 3D printing filaments made with the best raw materials to deliver exceptional quality and reliability. PolyLite™ covers the most popular 3D printing materials to meet your everyday needs in design and prototyping.

Q: Can PC be printed at large scales without warping?
A: A stable high temperature environment is required to print larger PC parts without warping and whether a part is susceptible to warping will vary on how the residual stress releases within the parts geometry. Most users print PC with the heated bed set to 100˚C and an enclosure to passively heat the surrounding environment; this effectively reduces internal stress which cause PC to warp or crack. To guarantee that PC can be printed at any size without warping, 3D printing with a professionally designed heated chamber is required.

Q: Is PolyLite™ PC flame retardant?
A:  PolyLite™ PC is classified with a UL94-V2 rating. For applications requiring the best classification we recommend choosing PolyMax™ PC-FR which is a flame retardant PC filament (UL94V-0/1.5 mm).

Q: What support materials can I use with this product?
A:  Polymaker’s PolyDissolve™ S2 filament is the recommended support filament for PolyLite™ PC. If your 3D printer is not equipped for multi-material, self-support can be used.
