Storage & Drying
MAGIGOO Original is best stored upright, with the cap closed and away from direct sunlight.
Before packaging, PolyLite™ ABS is dried to ensure the best printing quality and filaments are vacuum sealed to protect the filament from moisture.
While not a strict requirement to use PolyLite™ ABS, we recommend that the material be used with the PolyBox™ or a dry cabinet during printing to keep the filament at dry conditions (relative humidity of 15% or less) to prevent moisture absorption which will lower the quality and the mechanical properties of the print.
When not in use PolyLite™ ABS should be stored away from sunlight in the packaged resealable bag. If the filament does absorb moisture, spools of PolyLite™ ABS can be dried in a preheated convection oven at 80˚C for up to 8 hours. Results may vary depending on the accuracy of your oven so please be conservative. For more information about filament drying please read our user guide.

PolyLite™ ABS has been engineered with compatibility in mind to print excellently on a wide range of professional 3D printers. This material requires a heated bed and we recommend printing with an enclosure or heated chamber for sizeable or thin models.
Of course with thousands of unique 3d printer models on the market, we can't guarantee each filament type will work with every 3D printer.

Q: How does PolyLite™ ABS compare to other ABS materials?
A: Like Polymaker's other products, PolyLite™ ABS is designed specifically with 3D printing in mind. The raw ingredients in this material were chosen to reduce odor when printing and to maximize performance. Additionally users will also note when comparing technical data; PolyLite™ ABS is one of the strongest ABS materials on the market, outperforming many other brands.
Q: Can ABS be printed at large scales without warping?
A: A stable high temperature environment is required to print larger ABS parts without warping and whether a part is susceptible to warping will vary on how the residual stress releases within the parts geometry. Most users print ABS with the heated bed set to 100˚C and an enclosure to passively heat the surrounding environment; this effectively reduces internal stress which cause ABS to warp or crack. To guarantee that ABS can be printed at any size without warping, 3D printing with a professionally designed heated chamber is required.
Q: Is ABS a UV resistant plastic?
A: No, ABS is not an inherently UV resistant plastic. As a solution, some users paint their ABS 3D printed parts to provide UV protection. If you require a plastic that is UV resistant and similar to PolyLite™ ABS in mechanical / thermal performance, we recommend PolyLite™ ASA.
Q: What support materials can I use with this product?
A: Polymaker’s PolyDissolve™ S2 filament is the recommended support filament for PolyLite™ ABS. If your 3D printer is not equipped for multi-material, self-support can be used.

Q: How do I apply Magigoo?
A: It is best to apply Magigoo when the printing bed is cool. Before applying, shake the Magigoo pen like you mean it, press down the nib on the printing bed for Magigoo to flow. Spread more or less evenly on the printing area. It is enough to cover your active print area with an even thin layer. DO NOT SQUEEZE the bottle to avoid applicator popping off. Applicator has a valve which is activated once you push on it.
Q: Do I need to apply Magigoo everytime?
A: For good and reliable adhesion we recommend to apply Magigoo every time.
Q: How do I clean my bed after using Magigoo?
A: After your prints have finished and popped off, clean the printing bed by wiping with a damp cloth. Yes, just water is enough.
Q: How long will Magigoo last for?
A: One Magigoo 50ml pen is good for on average 100 prints. There is no firm best before date as it will vary depending on use and storing conditions - Once opened, we recommend to use it in a couple of months.
Q: Will Magigoo work with my existing printing surface?
A: Magigoo was originally formulated with borosilicate glass surfaces in mind however we have also had good success applying Magigoo to surfaces like Buildtak, in these cases Magigoo can work as a release agent for materials which can over-adhere like PET with PEI.
