It is important to have an abrasion resistant nozzle when printing composite and abrasive materials like Carbon and glass fiber-filled filament. The classic Olsson Ruby Nozzle is compatible with a wide range of printers and features excellent performance, wear-resistance and reliability.
The classic Olsson Ruby has been designed to be compatible with the popular form factor of a nozzle with a 7mm long M6x1 external threading and 12.5mm overall length, like on the Olsson Nozzles used on the Olsson Block for the Ultimaker 2.

ONE NOZZLE - The Olsson Ruby will work with a huge range of materials. PLA, ABS, CPE/PET, Nylon, and composites with abrasive additives such as Carbon fiber, Steel, Wood, Boron Carbide, Tungsten and Phosphorescent pigment, are some of the materials successfully tested so far. It works equally well for printing common FDM / FFF 3D printing materials up to 300°C.
HIGHLY WEAR RESISTANT - The ruby mounted at the tip makes sure that even the toughest materials will be printable. It was originally designed for printing with Boron Carbide (B4C), the third hardest known material in the world.
EXCELLENT HEAT CONDUCTIVITY - Since most of the Olsson Ruby is made from brass, with its excellent heat conductivity, performance and throughput is first-class.
VERIFIED PERFORMANCE - People all over the world have been testing different iterations of the ruby nozzle since early 2016. Olsson are very happy to have received only good printing results from this community.

The image to the left is the front face of a ruby nozzle that has printed more than 8kg of carbon fiber filled materials. The lines made by the surface grinding of the ruby during production is still visible, also the thinnest edges are still perfectly sharp. The black specs you see on the inside is just residue from the carbon filled filament. Olsson have since reported customers that printed 50kg+ of highly abrasive filaments without any measurable wear on the nozzle.

*1 = You will need to adjust the fan shroud since the nozzle is shorter than the original nozzle.
*2 = You will need to mount it with the nozzle not placed against the front face of the heater block but against the heat break/isolator tube to create a seal.
*3 = Will require disabling of the automatic bed leveling since the ruby tip is not conductive.
*4 = Several testers reports success. Ruby is longer than stock nozzle so Z height needs to be adjusted.

*6 = Lower the heatsink and heatbreak half a turn while the block is hot to ensure a proper seal.
