Magigoo Pro HT is designed for professional use, to work at high printing temperatures. The part should be relatively easy to remove once it cools and the glue residue should also be easily cleaned off.
High temperature materials such as PEEK are advanced engineering thermoplastics which offer improved mechanical and chemical stability at elevated temperatures when compared to regular thermoplastics. Other materials include PEKK, Ultem and PPSU and their carbon/glass fibre reinforced counterparts. Owing to their high temperature and other exceptional properties these materials are highly sought after in high temperature and high performance engineering applications such as in the automotive and aerospace industries. Additionally these material are also sought after in the chemical, petrochemical, medical and research applications.
High temperature filaments prove to be challenging materials for FDM printing due to their higher tendency to warp. These materials are generally printed at elevated temperatures owing to their high temperature properties. Magigoo Pro HT is a specialized solution for FDM printing of PEEK filaments which was developed to work at elevated printing temperatures.
Using this product with other than PEEK type filaments might cause over adhesion and damage your build surface.
The applicator has an active spring valve, which activates when applicator is pressed against the build plate. Please do not press the bottle as "ketchup bottle" , otherwise the applicator may pop off. Bottle may be slightly squeezed, only when the nib is pressed against the bed and it may be necessary only if bigger flow is required. Bottle must not be squeezed when cap is off any other time as it may result in glue popping out of the bottle.
How to use
MAGIGOO PRO HT has been designed and tested to work with build-plate temperature of 150 °C or lower. The ideal settings for MAGIGOO HT may vary depending on your printer and filament brand.
- Shake the bottle.
- Apply to the desired area by pressing the nib on the bed (activating the inner valve) and spreading as needed.
- Print according to the filament/printer manufacturers recommendations.
- Allow to cool and Remove. The print should pop right off.*
- Clean - Use a damp cloth to wipe off.
For larger prints a 20 mm brim is recommended
Magigoo HT was designed for glass surface but also works on high temperature garolite and other build-surfaces
In cases of excess adhesion, it is recommended to wet print bed with a small amount of water slowly work it below the part, this should make part removal easier. If your prints are not self releasing after the bed cools, increasing the z offset (nozzle gap) may be required.
MAGIGOO PRO HT is best stored upright, with the cap closed and away from direct sunlight.
Q: How do I apply Magigoo?
A: It is best to apply Magigoo when the printing bed is cool. Before applying, shake the Magigoo pen like you mean it, press down the nib on the printing bed for Magigoo to flow. Spread more or less evenly on the printing area. It is enough to cover your active print area with an even thin layer. DO NOT SQUEEZE the bottle to avoid applicator popping off. Applicator has a valve which is activated once you push on it.
Q: Do I need to apply Magigoo everytime?
A: For good and reliable adhesion we recommend to apply Magigoo every time.
Q: How do I clean my bed after using Magigoo?
A: After your prints have finished and popped off, clean the printing bed by wiping with a damp cloth. Yes, just water is enough.
Q: How long will Magigoo last for?
A: One Magigoo 50ml pen is good for on average 100 prints. There is no firm best before date as it will vary depending on use and storing conditions - Once opened, we recommend to use it in a couple of months.
Q: Will Magigoo work with my existing printing surface?
A: Magigoo was originally formulated with borosilicate glass surfaces in mind however we have also had good success applying Magigoo adhesives to other printing surfaces.
