The full range of Industrial Polymaker materials available from 3D Printing Solutions

3D Printing Solutions, an Australian owned and operated 3D Printing retailer today announced their certification to resell Polymakers new Industrial range of products.

Polymakers new industrial ranges of products have been masterfully developed to provide new industry solutions that will no doubt further expand the applications for additive manufacturing. As certified resellers, 3D Printing Solutions are acknowledged not only as a supplier of Polymaker’s industrial product range but also accredited with the knowledge and technical understand of said products to provide the utmost support to end-users.

Today also marks the Australian launch of PolyMide™ PA6-CF & PolyMide™ PA6-GF; two innovative fiber reinforced nylon filaments from Polymaker; designed for industrial applications requiring extreme stiffness, tensile strength and less anisotropy. These products are manufactured with Polymakers well known Warp-Free™ technology and newly developed Fiber Adhesion™ technology.

Fiber-Adhesion™ Technology

Fiber Adhesion™ Technology improves the layer adhesion of fiber reinforced materials, by optimizing the surface chemistry of the fibers to achieve better dispersion and bonding to the polyamide matrix. This results in better strength along the Z-axis and reduced mechanical anisotropy when compared to a pure Nylon PA6 printed parts. This in-house technology was developed exclusively to combat the problem of adding fibers to filaments. All other brand fiber reinforced materials show a decrease in z-axis layer adhesion when compared with their non-fiber reinforced Nylons producing a part that is only stronger on the X-Y axis but detrimental to the Z axis. Polymaker’s new technology not only solves this problem but actually increases Z axis tensile strength creating more isotropic parts that are strong in every direction.

It is always exciting to see how Polymaker formulate their materials to best suit this technology. Every other fiber reinforced material we have found always sacrifices layer adhesion limiting the applications for those materials. PolyMide™ PA6-CF

PolyMide™ PA6-CF is a carbon fiber reinforced nylon (PA6) 3D printing material offering the highest strength, impact resistance and heat deflection of all Polymaker 3D printing materials. PolyMide™ PA6-CF is also an ESD safe material making it a suitable candidate for printing electronic jigs and fixtures. The carbon fiber reinforcement provides significantly improved stiffness, strength and heat resistance without affecting z-axis layer adhesion. Featuring a heat deflection temperature of 215°C, this material lends itself perfectly to functioning automotive applications where strength and heat resistance are required from the material.

PolyMide™ PA6-GF

PolyMide™ PA6-GF is a glass fiber reinforced Nylon (PA6) that offers outstanding mechanical properties, namely, impact strength and stiffness. The material exhibits excellent thermal and mechanical properties without sacrificing the layer adhesion. PolyMide™ PA6-GF can be used to print parts working in a wide temperature range and has been utilized to create custom lab equipment working at temperatures as low as -190°C.
