Introducing Magigoo 3D Printing Adhesives

3D Printing Solutions, an Australian owned and operated 3D Printing retailer today announced their resellership with Magigoo (manufactured by Thought3D) to supply their extensive range of 3D printing adhesives.

With Magigoo, Thought3D developed a wide range of dedicated for bed adhesion solutions. Using their smart adhesion technology, the Magigoo adheres to printed parts locking them to the heated bed while also easily releasing at cold temperatures. The smart adhesion technology is exciting as poor adhesion can often result in print failures and too much adhesion can make print removal incredibly difficult.

"In some cases too much adhesion can cause issues, especially with glass beds. When printing materials like PETG or PC directly on a glass bed we quickly discovered it is very important to remove materials like polycarbonate while the bed is hot to avoid cracking or breaking the glass. When printing high temperature materials with glass and glue there is always that risk if the operator isn't next to the printer when it finishes. With Magigoo the 3D print just self-releases when the bed cools. In-house Magigoo has made print removal easier with many bed surfaces and has significantly decreased our turn around of glass beds when printing those high temperature thermoplastics like polycarbonate. It just made perfect sense to offer this product to our customers.Matt Tyson – Marketing Manager

In 2019 Magigoo saw considerable recognition from leading filament manufacturers such as Polymaker who endorsed the product by endorsing Magigoo PC for their range of polycarbonate based 3D printing filaments.

We are really excited to work with Polymaker and their highly professional team. We have spent significant time cross referencing each other’s materials to provide highest value to end users. We love Polymaker filaments and are sure that this collaboration will benefit end-users and strengthen positions of both companies making the offering complete. We hope to provide a solution to any presently used and future filament. It is a win-win-win combination for all.- Andrei-Andy Linnas, co-founder of Thought3D.

As a solution for adhesion problems, many users use bed adhesion sheets to help prevent lifting and warping of large models, with professional and engineering plastics the sheets can fuse irreversibly to the print which requires the sheets removed very often and also incurs a lot of post processing and cleaning. Magigoo products like Magigoo PC can be used on glass or multiple other surfaces. Using Magigoo on other plastic based surfaces, including sheets is beneficial to provide strong adhesion and prevent part to fuse to the sheet.

  • Shake the bottle.
  • Apply to the desired area by pressing the nib on the bed (activating the inner valve) and spreading as needed.
  • Print according to the filament/printer manufacturers recommendations.
  • Allow to cool and Remove. The print should pop right off.
  • Clean - Use a damp cloth to wipe off.

Magigoo currently offer 3D printing adhesive solutions including Magigoo Original, Magigoo Flex, Magigoo PC, Magigoo PA, Magigoo PP, Magigoo PPGF and Magigoo HT. Their product range covers adhesives for a wide range of materials including PLA, PETG, ABS, HIPS, ASA, Polycarbonate (PC), Nylon (PA), TPU, TPE, TPC, PP and PEEK.
